Dubai, UAE; April 19, 2015 - In the first quarter of 2015, Avaya brought home two prestigious awards from independent industry organizations. The company was recognized for its contribution towards transforming customer networks around the GCC, and for its innovative channel enablement programme.

Avaya was voted by Network World readers as the Middle East's Networking Vendor of the Year, representing industry acknowledgement of Avaya innovation and the recent launch of the Avaya Fabric Networking technology, Avaya SDN Fx. The award follows the successful implementation of this new offering with iconic GCC customers such as Dubai World Trade Centre, Mall of Qatar, Dr. Suleiman Habib Medical Group, as well as a number of government departments and entities across the region.

Representing the regional channel and partner community, readers of Channel Middle East magazine voted the Avaya Connect channel programme as the recipient of the Vendor Channel Programme of the Year. This programme provides Avaya channel partners with the tools, skills and facilities required to build inroads into the attractive mid-market sector. Support from Avaya includes sales training, support for vertical positioning, technical training and marketing support.

Nidal Abou-Ltaif, President, Global Growth Markets, Avaya, said: "These industry recognitions come on the back of an aggressive, six-month plan that we pursued in the region, growing our networking business, and our partner community. I am proud to say that Avaya is now a vendor of choice for a growing number of customers and channels,  - and even more proud that the broader community is recognising this. Our challenge and promise is to keep this momentum and pace of growth, and we look forward to an exciting and innovative future."
