Dubai, 10 October 2011: DOMOTEX Middle East, the region's annual showpiece event, dedicated to the floor covering industry, concluded yet another successful show last month with a total of 148 exhibitors from over 30 countries showcasing a wide range of floor covering products, from hand-made and machine-made rugs and carpets to parquet and other wood flooring and many more.
The exhibition, which took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, welcomed 4,661 visitors between 12th-14th September 2011. The show attracted flooring professionals, wholesalers and retailers, decision-makers from the construction industry, architects, interior designers, project planners developers and high net worth individual buyers. The show was opened by HE Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Affairs, marking the six year anniversary of DOMOTEX Middle East.
Angela Schaschen, Managing Director of Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, the organiser of DOMOTEX Middle East said: "This year's show was highly successful in bringing together the latest innovations and trends in the flooring industry and attracted really serious buyers; post-show feedback has identified that searching for new suppliers was the number one reason that visitors gave for attending DOMOTEX Middle East 2011."
"We also saw a mix of local and international visitors, with 67% of visitors hailing from the UAE and 33% coming from international destinations, including 6% from Iran and 5% from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
DOMOTEX Middle East is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai, Chairman of Emirates Airlines and Group and Vice Chairman of Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
