Project leverages company's expertise in mall construction

Dubai, November 23, 2008: Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings, the regional leader in the design, construction, and commissioning of commercial and industrial buildings in the Middle East, has undertaken the construction of LuLu Hypermarket in Dibba Fujairah.

LuLu Hypermarket is the leading supermarket chain and flagship of Abu-Dhabi based Emke Group, which owns and operates nearly 70 hypermarkets in the Middle East.

The LuLu Hypermarket building will be spread across 17,000 square metres over 20,000 square metres of land. The building will have a concrete façade replete with authentic Islamic architecture and equipped with the risk and compliance features.

The project reiterates Amana's capabilities to execute time-sensitive projects in the mall development field and further builds on its expertise in construction of hypermarkets.

In his comments, Mohammed Kaoud, General Manager at Amana Ras Al Khaimah, said: "The project to construct the hypermarket in Dibba, Fujairah is a key project for us, given its strategic importance. The project is very time sensitive, and involves a lot of coordination with nominated suppliers and sub-contractors. We are happy to win the contract as this opens the door for us to undertake similar projects for LuLu in the country and region."
