Alshamel Int'l CEO steps down
Chairman lauds Cameron's contributionKUWAIT CITY, June 7: Mrs Derin Cameron, CEO and founding partner of Alshamel International Holding , a specialized company in travel and tourism, has stepped down after twelve years of dedicated hard work in the organization.
Mrs Cameron has been an essential element that has shaped Alshamel to its current status as a leading name in the travel management industry. Ever since she joined Alshamel in 1998, Mrs. Cameron's contributions have been clearly observed through the business expansion plans she envisioned.
The former CEO has also played a leading role in establishing and developing international associations with some of the key leading names in the global travel industry including CWT and SATO and representation of leading airlines such as United and Delta.
Commenting on this move, Khaled Al Ghanem, Chairman and Managing Director of Alshamel said "actually we are quite sad about Derin's departure as she has been one of the founders of this company. Nevertheless, we have to look into the future and we have to be ready to move the company to the next level. There are many challenges ahead of us but we have also made great achievements this year".
Al Ghanem added also that "currently, the company is going through a major restructuring initiative to improve on all aspects, and today we are not only looking at maintaining our leading position in the region but we want to develop it much further. We have a very aggressive strategic plan put in place and we are moving ahead with lot of confidence to achieve that".
