ALGIERS, May 28 (KUNA) -- Algerian oil company, Sonatrach, said Monday it was planning USD 68.2 billion worth of investments in the years 2012-16.

Sonatrach president Abdulhameed Zarqeen, in a statement, said the company's 2016 vision aimed at boosting oil and gas reserves. He noted that Algeria's oil reserve was around four billion tons.

Oil Explorations increased from 30 in 2011 to 57 this year, he said.

Sonatrach plans to produce 234 million tons of oil by 2016, said Zarqeen.

The company's chief said they produced more than 27.5 million cubic meters of LNG.
