Groupe Benhamadi Antar Trade is targeting April 2013 for completion of two pharmaceuticals factories it is building in the Algerian city of Sidi Abdallah at a cost of USD 50 million, a enior executive told Zawya.
"Algeria imported more than USD 1.1 billion worth of pharmaceutical products in the first six months of 2012. This is an increase of more than 33% on the amount it imported in the same period of 2011. Our enterprise will ease some of this import burden," Miloud Bouderbala, chief executive of Groupe Benhamadi subsidiary Concor Company, said citing official figures.
The new plants are being built as a joint venture with a Jordanian firm, and 20% of the construction is complete, Bouderbala said. He did not name the Jordanian company.
