Alba's remains committed to achieve zero accident work environment

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) commended the recently concluded GCC Traffic Week for its success in steering greater public awareness on the need for improved traffic safety and safe driving behaviour as well as in raising attention on the massive loss of human, financial and material resources through reckless driving.

The GCC Traffic Week - currently in its 29th year - took place across each of the GCC countries from March 10 - 15, 2013. The theme for this year's GCC Traffic Week was: Our Aim Your Safety.

Alba's Human Resources & Public Relations Senior Manager, Abdul Rahman Al Janahi and Head of Safety, Sultan Khairy Sultan met the Ministry of Interior Undersecretary, Major-General Khalid Al Absi to reiterate Alba's support not only for the GCC Traffic Week but also in giving the company's backing to the Ministry's on-going public awareness and safety campaigns.

Commenting on Alba's support for the GCC Traffic Week, Alba's Chief Executive Tim Murray said:

"As a community leader that affirms its faith in being a responsible corporate citizen, we at Alba believe that it is vital to provide support for any initiative that promotes safety. Our backing for the GCC Traffic Week underlines this commitment and gives us an opportunity to reiterate the core principles of our on-going campaign to achieve zero-accident work environment at the corporate, national and even regional level."

The three Zero Accidents Principle states that ownership of safety is everyone's responsibility; working safely is a condition of employment; and all work related injuries and illnesses are preventable.
