DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd., or Gasco, has signed a 695 million U.A.E. dirham ($189 million) lump-sum turnkey contract with India's Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (500510.BY) for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the new Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat gas pipeline, the United Arab Emirates state news agency WAM reported.

The agreement was signed by Gasco chief executive officer Mohammed Abdulla bin Sahoo Al Suwaidi and L&T's K. Venkataramanan at the Sheikh Khalifa Energy Complex in Abu Dhabi, WAM reported Tuesday.

The pipeline, which Gasco is implementing on behalf of its parent, state-run Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., or Adnoc, will supply natural gas to Takreer's new refinery expansion and to Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority in Shuweihat. The project is scheduled to be completed by September 2013, according to WAM.

The 122-kilometer pipeline will have diameter of 52 inches between Habshan and Ruwais, and 48 inches between Ruwais and Shuweihat, WAM said.
