Al Ghurair was chosen as the recipient of the award for his achievements positive impact and continuous contributions to banking & finance industry. Previously, Al Ghurair received the Lifetime Achievement award from The Banker Middle East Industry Awards in 2009.

Mashreq Al Islami, the Islamic banking division of Mashreq won the Best Islamic Window from The Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2011. The awards are recognized around the world as among the most distinguished within the financial industry.
The survey reflects the opinions of registered readers of Banker Middle East who cast their votes to select the winners from nominated institutions. Winners were chosen based on the institutions' overall performance, innovations, improvements and growth over the last 12 months.
