ABU DHABI, May 20th, 2013-- The Human Resources department in Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has organised its first Administrative Training and Development Forum for the whole of the ADNOC group of companies.

ADNOC stated in a press release today that this forum, hosted by the Training and Development Administration, aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Training and Development Administration in all ADNOC companies to prepare and apply HR plans, define challenges facing ADNOC Emiratisation plans through analysing labour interests and attracting UAE national cadres to join the oil and gas sector.

Mr. Mohammed Al Qubeisi, director of ADNOC HR department, stressed the important role of Training and Development Administrations in ADNOC, and the importance of cooperation and coordination among the company's groups, noting the importance of the exchange of expertise to overcome ADNOC challenges, mainly that of raising the Emiratisation employee ratio within the companies to 75 percent by 2017.

On his part, the director of Training and Development in ADNOC companies, Jumaa Al Ali, stated that the forum, the first of its kind, aims to find common communication channels that ensure effective cooperation and coordination between concerned departments in ADNOC, thus reaching a common understanding and vision of the training and development process.

Al Ali stated that the largest amount of national employees within ADNOC and its companies are below the age of 25 years, which determines the need by the Training and Development Administrations to adopt plans and programmes that speed up the development and prepare them to assume leadership roles in the oil and gas sector in the UAE.

Al Ali reviewed the recent achievements made by the administration, clarifying through statistics the big increase in career development programmes that aim to ensure the effective enrollment of UAE Graduates in ADNOC jobs.

The forum was followed by a discussion, during which a number of suggestions were made by directors of ADNOC Training and Development Administrations, pertaining to policies of defining training needs for employees, along with planning and applying annual training programmes.

Participants expressed their satisfaction with the forum and recommended holding it regularly, as well as establishing an administrative authority and special committees to follow up with forum recommendations and their outcomes.
