Abu Dhabi, Jan 29th, 2012 (WAM) -- Abu Dhabi Airport Services has received IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) registration for passenger and cargo ground handling services at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Since April 2010, the ADAS Quality team has been working with the operational departments to ensure procedural, documentation and the quality management systems have been aligned with ISAGO Standards & Recommended Practices. A successful audit conducted at Abu Dhabi in July 2011 by an IATA appointed airline confirmed ADASs high safety standards. ISAGO for ground service providers is modeled on IATAs Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) applicable to airlines, and uses internationally recognized standards and recommended practices. ISAGO offers various benefits to airlines, ground handlers, regulators as well as airport authorities; safer ground operations fewer accidents and injuries, elimination of redundant audits from airlines, reduced costs, uniform audit process, improved safety oversight, harmonized auditor training and qualifications, improved quality standards, and enhanced understanding of high-risk areas within ground operations. Eng. Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operating Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, commented: "Abu Dhabi Airports Company is proud to now have ADAS included in the ISAGO registry. The detailed audit process by the auditing airline from the ISAGO Audit Pool enabled ADAS to satisfy the stringent safety requirements of the ISAGO program."ISAGO registration allows ADACs existing and new airline customers to place their handling requirements in the hands of a trusted, safe and secure partner that is stringently audited and provides assurance that services are delivered in accordance with the latest industry standards.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
