Royal Jet's Boeing fleet gets GCAA certification
Abu DhabiMonday, July 04, 2005Royal Jet, the UAE-based luxury aircraft charter company, announced yesterday that it has secured ETOPS-120 certification for its fleet of Boeing Business Jets by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) effective June 17.
"Royal Jet recently celebrated its second anniversary. Within only two years, we have become a regional market leader for luxury air charter services," said Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman.
ETOPS (Extended-range Twin-engine Operation Performance Standards) is an acronym for the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) rule permitting newer twin-engine commercial aircraft to fly routes that, at some points, are more than 60 minutes flying time from an emergency or diversion airport.
"Due to Royal Jet's safety records and security standards that originate from the association to Amiri Flight, the company has obtained the ETOPS-120 rating without having to apply for the ETOPS-90," he said.
