PARIS (Dow Jones)--Maroc TelecomMaroc Telecom
(IAM.CL), the largest mobile operator and only fixed-line operator in Morocco, Tuesday said first-half net profit rose 18%, helped by a strong domestic performance.

said net profit for the first half totaled 4.5 billion Moroccan dirham (US$0.62 billion).
Operating profit rose 11% to MAD6.67 billion, with a 1-percentage-point improvement in operating margin to 47%.

raised its forecasts full-year 2008 growth to "above 8%" for revenue and "above 11%" for operating profit.
The Moroccan operator said first-half operating profit for all activities in Morocco rose 16% to MAD6.65 billion, with operating profit at its mobile division in Morocco increasing 15% to MAD4.98 billion.

, which also has operations in Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Gabon, is 53%-owned by French media conglomerate Vivendi SA (12777.FR).
Vivendi will report first-half earnings figures before the market opens Sept. 1.
