GE Healthcare IT Unveils Portfolio at Arab Health 2012

Dubai, UAE, January 25, 2012: At Arab Health 2012, the region's premier healthcare exhibition ongoing at the Dubai International Convention Center, GE Healthcare IT is highlighting its latest innovations across three anchors - Imaging Solutions, Clinical Information Systems and eHealth. The display includes the first-ever showcase in the Middle East of GE's Omnyx Digital Pathology solution.

Under Imaging Solutions, GE Healthcare will demonstrate the Omnyx™ Integrated Digital Pathology solution to complement the strong foundation HCIT built in RIS-PACS, CIS, and CVIT specialties. GE's products and solutions provide better integration, improving efficiency, access and quality. Providing aggregated view of patient data would enable physician decision support and diagnostic confidence, addressing potential errors that could result from incomplete patient data.
With the range of Imaging Solutions products such as RIS-PACS, CVIT, CIS, and Digital Pathology, GE Healthcare promotes the applications and tools to help customers succeed as a business by providing advanced clinical tools and real-time insights to optimize radiology workflow. These solutions would help speed up access to clinical data, increase capacity to grow exam volume, remove patient flow bottlenecks, promote collaboration between referring physicians and add new service lines.
At the Enterprise Level, GE Healthcare is focusing on the Enterprise Archive and XDS solutions at Arab Health. These will help improve access to images, reports and documents across departments by providing standards-based archiving infrastructure. This would positively contribute to increased availability of clinical data, improved total cost of ownership, minimize storage management costs, manage multi-ology DICOM data including RAD/Card and leverage XDS/XDS-1 standards to integrate multiple data formats.
At the community level, GE Healthcare IT is bringing Centricity Portal and Universal Archive that, together, allow viewing of patient images, diagnostic reports and any clinical documents from different isolated hospital information systems within a group of hospitals in a region or the entire country.
In this way, GE Healthcare is creating a shared platform to exchange patient history and data and make it accessible to clinical stake holders to connect and collaborate. The benefits include increased quality with greater access to clinical information, reduced cost by minimizing duplicate scans, minimized used of CDs and ability to tap into capacity of underutilized radiologists.
The Clinical Information Systems (CIS) are innovative, intuitive data management solutions that help enhance workflows and patient care in operating room, anesthesia and intensive care. They can easily be connected to other hospital IT systems for patient management and exchange of information. They run on a modern IT platform for quick and easy administration providing smart investment.
Centricity Critical Care is a clinically focused, patient centric information management system for intensive care and step-down units. Centricity Anesthesia data management system covers the complete perioperative workflow helping enhance quality and save documentation time.
The Omnyx Integrated Digital Pathology solution is designed to integrate into a comprehensive platform what are often stand-alone products.
