Dubai Airport Freezone hosts Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Dubai, UAE, January 25, 2012: Dubai Airport Freezone's Director General, Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, met with Kazuyuki Hamada, Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to discuss ways to strengthen industry relations between the two parties.
Mr. Kazuyuki said: "The Middle East represents an increasingly significant business opportunity for Japan and we believe that Dubai Airport Freezone is a likeminded partner for such future business relation.
The meeting was also attended by the Japanese Consul General of Japan Mr. Ashiki and other senior officials from the Freezone.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs seeks to provide support and intelligence to Japanese companies interested in establishing themselves in the Middle East, and vice versa."
Mr. Kazuyuki said that his country is seeking to further strengthen the relations with the UAE, within the investment sectors and through strategic business partnerships in order to exchange experiences related to the operation of private free zones.
He said that Dubai is a strategic location, which attracts Japanese companies who are seeking to enhance their business investment opportunities and looking for a strong foothold from which to promote distribution in the Middle East.
He said many Japanese companies are looking forward to working in Dubai, which occupies a leading position in the rankings Japanese External Trade Organization to promote trade between Japan and various countries.
Mr. Kazuyuki praised the flexibility of investment laws and legislation in the UAE, which encourage and support foreign investment and help to create business partnerships between foreign and local investors.
Dr. Zarooni said: "Thank you to Mr Kazuyuki for taking the time to visit Dubai Airport Freezone. Japan is one of the 10 most active countries in the Freezone and through increased bilateral relations with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs we hope to bring the valuable services of the Freezone to even more Japanese businesses looking to invest in the UAE, and wider Middle East, market."
He noted that the Japanese companies have adopted the latest in technology in different areas to make them capable of competing and marketing their products and services easily in the Middle East and in the surrounding areas.
The number of Japanese companies over the past few years has increased in Dubai Airport Freezone registering 100% growth in 2010 to reach 45 in total.
