GUAS Strongly Condemns AL Decisions, Premeditated Stances Regarding Syria
- Text size
CAPITALS,(SANA)- The Executive Committee of the General Union of Arab Students (GUAS) strongly condemned the decisions and the premeditated stances adopted by the Arab League (AL) Council with regard to Syria and the submission to the US, Israeli and Qatari dictations by some Arab governments.
The Committee affirmed that those decisions indicate that the AL is not keen on solving the crisis in Syria through the peaceful and political means, but it works on increasing the violence and the bloodshed, in addition to escalating the mobilization to bring more destruction and terrorism to the Syrian cities.
The Committee called upon the Syrian people to preserve their land and their national unity, and to adhere to their Arabism, and to go forwards for building their democratic state through the work and dialogue.
It affirmed that the Syrian people are able to overcome the crises and to build a future that guarantees achieving security, stability and prosperity.
In the same context, the National Union of Syrian Students/ Prague Branch condemned the decisions taken by the AL Council regarding Syria, considering them as an attempt to hinder the efforts exerted for holding a comprehensive national dialogue aiming at finding a solution to the crisis that would satisfy all the sides, and as an attempt to target the work of the observer mission.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Union said that Syria's destiny, and its crisis and the way to solve it are only related to the Syrian people and their leadership and not to foreign sides.
It affirmed that the AL decisions come in implementation of foreign and regional agendas aiming at finding justification for the foreign interference, destroying the country and its infrastructure, shedding more blood and stirring sectarian sedition.
The Union asserted that the awareness of the Syrian people and their solidarity with their leadership as well as their rejection of the foreign interference and the wisdom of the Syrian leadership and its national reform program led by President Bashar al-Assad will be able to overcome the crisis through a national dialogue and a national solution.
