Jeddah mayor launches office for Al-Ruwais Development Project land ownership claims

JEDDAH - Dr. Hani Abu-Rass, Mayor of Jeddah, unveiled the Owners' Relations Office for Al-Ruwais Development Project that will attend to the needs and answer the questions of individuals who would come to present supporting documents over their ownership claims on properties covered by the Project.

Opening the office on Sunday, he said the move is in line with the decision of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs to proceed with the expropriation of real estates located in AlRuwais area that are included in the Project as mandated by pertinent decree and subsequent resolutions to that effect.

The Mayor also urged property owners to cooperate with the Project developer by completing the necessary information and submitting photocopies of documents to the Owners' Relations Office.

Meanwhile, the President of Board of Directors Dr. Saleh Malaikah, said Al-Ruwais Development Project is an important step in the development of slums.

He noted that it is based on the participation of property owners in the mega strategic plan introduced by the Jeddah Municipality with the support of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah province.

The governor envisioned to convert slum areas in Makkah province into security, social, economic, architectural and housing development phases that will showcase various urban living replete with cultural, heritage, tourism, transportation and infrastructure services.

Dr. Saleh assured that the Project developer will always coordinate with relevant government authorities and public utilities companies to effectively implement the development plan.

Moreover, Abdullah Sulaiman Abudawood, senior vice president for Business Development and Marketing at Al-Ruwais International Properties Development Company, said all real estate properties required for the Project will be announced in the media and their owners should refer to Owners' Relations Office for deed verification and confirmation purposes.
