Dubai (United Arab Emirates): The Dubai Taxi CorporationDubai Taxi CorporationLoading... (DTCDTCLoading...), Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is organizing a series of training courses for all the existing and new cabdrivers focusing on good behaviour during driving with the aim of improving the level of services delivered by DTCDTCLoading... to the inhabitants and visitors of Dubai Emirate, and accordingly contribute to realizing RTA objectives & strategies of providing Safe & Smooth Transport for All.

"80 per cent of DTCDTCLoading... cab drivers have been subjected to these courses which continue through the end of the year, spanning a variety of important topics such as the rights & responsibilities of passengers as well as drivers, the seven components of distinguished customer service, advocating safe driving and minimizing accidents & traffic offences, recognizing new locations and remaining updated using Dubai Roads Atlas 2010, Global Positioning System (GPS), First Aid education, procedures & policies of DTCDTCLoading... and Public Transport Agency, and Drivers Offences Code," said Ammar bin Tamim, Director of DTCDTCLoading... Fleet Drivers Affairs.

"Coordination is in hand with all public & private entities to hold these training sessions throughout the year, including the Dubai Police General HQ, and RTA Public Transport Agency; where more than 7500 cab drivers are employed to run the taxi service 24/7 on shifts system," he continued.

Bin Tamim added that these courses & lectures were being coordinated on daily basis by Drivers Training & Qualification Center, Fleet Drivers Affairs Department where a group of 45 to 50 drivers attend a lecture at a time and a variety of books and publications were distributed covering the targeted topics. He stressed that DTCDTCLoading... was keen on qualifying and fully preparing drivers before deploying them on driving duties as they were considered as RTA ambassadors. "DTCDTCLoading... introductory education is not restricted only to orientation about safe driving principles and compliance with traffic & driving rules, but DTCDTCLoading... attaches utmost attention to make cab drivers well-behaved and turn them as a model of honesty and transparency in dealing daily with passengers and as such offer a true mirror image of the clear approach to which DTCDTCLoading... is committed," commented the Director of DTCDTCLoading... Fleet Drivers Affairs.

"Drivers are being subjected to comprehensive & intensive training courses aligned with the best and latest modules globally applied in this regard with the aim of improving and upgrading the level of services rendered to all segments of the community. A number of educative programs are also being organized in cooperation with the concerned bodies and delivered in three languages (Arabic, English and Urdu); which include lectures, practical demos on the best traffic safety practices during driving to maintain the safety of drivers, passengers and road users in general in keeping with our vision of providing Safe & Smooth Transport for All," continued bin Tamim.

He elaborated that Franchise & Enforcement Department, RTA Public Transport Agency - in its capacity as the entity overseeing the drafting of policies, legislations and monitoring the performance of all private franchise companies managing taxis in Dubai - is staging awareness campaigns throughout the year in coordination with Vehicles Tracking & Passenger Transport Section of the Department to brief drivers on violations of quality, public conduct, personal hygiene, and vehicle cleanliness as well as policies & procedures applicable to them and compliance of cab drivers with the rules of security, safety, traffic offences and others.

RTA and DTCDTCLoading... are joining forces to qualify & train cab drivers in an integrated manner with a view to delivering excellent services to the public & passengers, mastering more efforts to perform their duties in full, and as such contribute to the success and advancement of RTA in general and DTCDTCLoading... in particular and leverage DTCDTCLoading... services in a way befitting the global profile of Dubai Emirate.
