- Text size
Dubai-UAE: 2 September, 2010 - AccountAbility, the international corporate responsibility (CR) research and advisory organisation headquartered in New York and London, has appointed Bassem Nasir as Regional Head, Mid-East and Africa. In his new role, Mr. Nasir will be based in Saudi Arabia and have responsibility for all AccountAbility operations in the region.
Mr. Nasir's background includes several years at Intel in the Mid-East in various CR roles, as well as a stint at the World Bank launching the Palestinian Development Gateway, a development-focused web portal. At Intel he directed the company's educational outreach programs, a key component of its regional marketing effort, and represented the firm at the World Economic Forum and various global and regional sustainability conferences. He also led Intel's government relations initiative in the Middle East and North Africa and worked closely with the World Bank, the United Nations, USAID, and the International Youth Foundation on development projects.
Recently, Mr. Nasir successfully ran his own consulting business -- The Good Consultant -- which focused on "good" management practices such as sustainability, CR, fundraising, and partnership building. He also directed the long term strategic planning process for the Jordan River Foundation, a prominent Jordanian NGO and conducted sustainability training seminars for leading organizations throughout the Middle East.
