Kuwait & Dubai, UAE - Royal Philips ElectronicsRoyal Philips ElectronicsLoading... (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) along with Engineering Group from Yusuf Ahmad AlGhanim Electronics, PhilipsPhilipsLoading...' exclusive agent in Kuwait, announces its Silver sponsorship at the First Kuwait Schools and Colleges Build Conference and Exhibition. This event is the largest under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr Moudhi Al-Humoud, Kuwait Minister of Education and Higher Education, and will take place from September 27th through the 29th at the Movenpick's Convention Center in Kuwait.

The show will bring together architects, designers, educational facility planners, construction managers and manufacturers for 2 days of educational sessions, exciting keynote presentations, exhibits, networking opportunities, and tours.

At the venue, a PhilipsPhilipsLoading... Lighting booth will showcase the Dynamic Lighting concept in a classroom setup. This will provide the visiting architects and designers a live example on the look and feel of installing such an innovative solution.

Dynamic Lighting is a solution that brings the benefits of daylight into an environment. In schools, this type of lighting positively influences students' behavior and concentration while reducing hyperactivity, helping teachers improve the learning process.

A study of the effectiveness of Dynamic Lighting in Hamburg School classes on students between 7 and 16 years of age, showed a significant improvement in the parameters that were investigated. The results stated a decrease of 44.9% in errors related to concentration including a fall of 76.6% in restlessness, while positively increasing their reading performance by 34.8%.

The SchoolVision dynamic solution, that will be showcased during the exhibition, can create 4 lighting scenes that fit distinct classroom activities from a fresh start in the morning and after lunch to calm down the classroom when the children are over-active, including efficiency in the regular classroom activities or when children have to concentrate, such as for tests. The teacher decides upon and selects the scenes via a control panel.

"Children these days have a busy life: school, music class, sports, friends, homework and also watch their favorite television show. The computer and mobile phone as well have gained strongly in children's view of the 'important things' in their life. Children sometimes feel tired, or are hyperactive, and find it more difficult to concentrate in class. This creates new challenges for teachers to get the best out of them on their school results", says Eduardo Mataix, Lighting Chairman Philips Middle EastPhilips Middle EastLoading.... "Using the right lighting solution, such as Dynamic Lighting in classrooms, helps to overcome early morning sleepiness and enhances the students' concentration leading to making less mistakes as well as suppressing hyperactivity", he adds.

Ahmad Hammoud, Vice President - Engineering Group commented, "Engineering Group has been PhilipsPhilipsLoading...' Lighting business agent in Kuwait for the past 55 years. As PhilipsPhilipsLoading...' reliable Kuwaiti partner, we bring forward the company's latest innovative solutions to higher influential authorities from different fields, including the education sector, therefore our participation at this 1st of its kind exhibition in Kuwait is essential."
