GCAS to train 50 ADAC executives in ACI/ICAO program

The Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports CompanyAbu Dhabi Airports Company
(ADACADAC), has announced it will offer the global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP) in its newly launched facilities at Al Bateen Executive Airport. The AMPAP programme is the first global initiative of its kind to provide an international professional accreditation in airport management, and upon its successful completion participants earn the coveted International Airport Professional Designation. In line with its commitment to investing in its human capital and in the development of the aviation industry in the region, ADACADAC has assigned 50 of its executives to go through the programme, starting in November 2010, which is considered as the largest group ever to be signed up by one single company.
The International Airport Professional qualification is the global standard for excellence in airport management, and the course is open to all individuals in a management position at any civil airport organisation. It gives participants a better understanding of key contemporary issues and challenges that confront the various stakeholders in the airport industry and encourages the adherence to uniform standards and awareness of best practices at the world's airports.
Dr. Othman Al khouri, Deputy General Manager, GCAS, said: "Since the centre was founded in 2008 it has been our mission to offer world class training options from our home base in Abu Dhabi, and hosting such high profile programmes as the AMPAP allows us to spearhead the advancement and professionalism of our industry in the Middle East.
