4,387 housing violations in Dubai in 6 months
Omar AbdulRahman, Head of Building Inspection Section at Dubai MunicipalityDubai MunicipalityLoading... said that during the first half of this year 4,387 houses have been found violating building and construction rules.

He said that 40,707 houses in Dubai were inspected since the starting of the One Villa, One Family campaign, to ensure compliance with MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... laws and legislation, as the inspectors continued their inspection campaign and surprise visits in coordination with various government departments and imposed fines on offenders according to law.

He explained that the violations ranged from bachelors staying in the family areas, and multiple families staying in one house, in addition to other violations such as building additions without permits and the exploitation of houses for purposes other than those allocated to them.

As for the reasons for so many irregularities, he said that the emirate has in recent years witnessed more and more growth among the cities of the world, and it was natural that growth to be accompanied by a group of violations by some people to meet their needs.

AbdulRahman pointed out that the municipal services were cut off for about 1,654 violating houses during the same period, after all the warnings sent to them by the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... were ended, prompting the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... to send letters to the Dubai Electricity and Water to cut services.
