A new innovative service is added to the University Learners services
- Text size
After a successful journey in founding the e-Learning and establishing its Academic methodologies
Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) initiated a pioneering step amongst the UAE universities by launching the Learners' Mobile Service, adding-up to the various innovative cutting-edge services provided to learners, in compliance with the main components of the university mission: Considering learners as the focus of all the university academic efforts.
The new mobile service allows learners to get instant and up-to-date information as well as academic records and accounts directly through their mobile phones. The learner can now enter this service portal and subscribe by choosing a Pin Number to inquire about his financial account balance and his grades, as well as reset his password by sending an SMS to the number specified for this service.
Dr. Ibrahim Mahmood Bin Abdulrahman, vice-chancellor of HBMeU, stated that "the University is a pioneer in founding e-Learning in the UAE, and the first educational institute to get the accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in this field. It carried on its trend towards distinction and uniqueness by establishing an academic methodology based on the highest quality criteria, supported by the most prominent international experts". He added: "Our initiative in disseminating the e-learning culture, locally and internationally, was an implementation of the guidelines of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, President of the University. What was accomplished to date represents an imprinted foundation of our futuristic aims for an e-environment, and a basis that paves the way to further innovations in the virtual learning environment".
The University relies on many cornerstones in launching its e-services, starting with considering the learners as the focus of its efforts, and providing cutting-edge high-tech services for an accessible quality learning, which is revealed in the various academic innovative services provided by the Learners Service Unit. These services accompany the learners from the date they enroll at the University, with orientation programs for their better academic choices, and throughout their learning journey, until placing them on the adequate career path by providing Career Advising and Placement Services (eCAPS). At HBMeU the learning experience is ongoing and accompanies learners to improve their skills and capacities and enhance their career opportunities through training and executive development programs, within a unique system based on the continuous, lifelong education principle.
