Contributing to the provision of care and safety to the children of Iraq in coordination with UNICEF
As part of its agreement with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in the Iraqi region of Kurdistan, and stemming from its interest in providing a safe and healthy environment for the children of Iraq, AsiacellAsiacellLoading... - the largest private Iraqi company and the first and only mobile telecommunications company to provide coverage for all of Iraq - announced the launch of the first free hotline for the Children's Rescue Center in coordination with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in an effort to aid abused children in the cities of Sulaymaniyah, Erbil and Dohuk.

This unprecedented step, which will initially be implemented in the cities of Kurdistan, corresponds with AsiacellAsiacellLoading...'s belief in the importance of providing a safe environment in which the children of Iraq can be brought up. The free hotline, which AsiacellAsiacellLoading... will covering the costs of, will enable children to contact concerned parties after falling victims to violence or to report other cases of child abuse that have occurred in the governorates that are covered by this line.

To this effect, AsiacellAsiacellLoading... held several meetings with UNICEF and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to discuss the hotline project in its current stage, and research ways to expand it to offer aid to children across all of Iraq. A number of AsiacellAsiacellLoading...'s employees also visited neighboring countries including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in cooperation with UNICEF to study the possibility of spreading the hotline project to these countries' cities, as well as to investigate similar abuse cases in Jordan.

Commenting on this first-of-its-kind social initiative, AsiacellAsiacellLoading...'s Chairman, Mr. Faruk Mustafa Rasool, said: "Our agreement with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Kurdistan stems from our moral and social responsibilities towards the Iraqi community in general and Iraqi children specifically. Through this agreement, we aim to provide the healthiest and safest environment for our children to be brought up in, in a manner that positively impacts both the outlook of our country and future generations who are a building block for the revival of our economy and its future." He added: "The hotline project is still in its initial stages, covering only in Sulaymaniyah, Irbil and Dohuk. We aim to expand its scope in the future to include all Iraqi cities, as living in a healthy environment that nourishes the feelings of security and trust is the basic right of every Iraqi child. It is therefore our duty as a committed and responsible company to provide such an environment for our children by assisting government entities that are responsible for this role. We hope that this initiative will drive other national organizations to protect our children and contribute to the building of a new Iraq."
