US-Dubai 2010: Executive Business Leaders Mission to Dubai concludes with business networking luncheon
Dubai, UAE: The week-long US-Dubai 2010: Executive Business Leaders Mission to Dubai organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce & IndustryDubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry
concluded on Thursday with the visiting delegation of 45 major American Chambers' Chairmen, Presidents and CEOs networking with Dubai's business leaders while also discussing future investment opportunities between their two sides.The American delegation headed by Dave Adkisson, 2010 Chairman of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) and President and CEO of Kentucky Chamber of Commerce also included Chamber heads of major US States including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Kentucky, San Francisco and other metro cities each representing thousands of US businesses.
The networking meeting was presided over by HE Hisham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice Chairman, Dubai ChamberDubai Chamber
and the panel of speakers included John Boehm, President, American Business Council, Hamdi Osman, Senior Vice-President, Operations Middle East and India, Fedex and Mathew Becker, Director, UAE Operations, Perkins Eastman International.
Al Shirawi informed the gathering that this high profile visit will help enhance trade ties between the two trading communities and will also re-affirm the status of Dubai as a popular investment destination for American businessmen. This visit will also open up a world of opportunities for the US Chambers' members who, through Dubai, will gain access to an extremely lucrative market that extends to the Gulf region.
Said Al Shirawi, "The US business leaders' mission to Dubai has paved the way for the Emirate's business community to consolidate trade ties with their American counterparts and to build up a stronger trading relationship that would be beneficial to both the sides."
On his part, David Adkisson lauded Dubai's hospitality and generosity extended to his delegation which he said will leave a lasting impression on them. He stressed that the Emirate offers a lot of investment opportunities for the US companies and now this visit will help in attract more American investors to the region.
The networking gathering served the Chamber's purpose of bringing face to face business leaders from Dubai's private sector and the large delegation of top American chambers that represent thousands of companies in the US as both the sides got the unique opportunity of sharing experiences and discussing joint business endeavours. The American side also got the chance to explore investment opportunities in Dubai and to personally experience its work culture.
