Closing ceremony celebrates achievements of High School Students
A closing ceremony was held at QtelQtelLoading... Headquarters recently to celebrate the end of a new phase of the "Work Ready Programme".

The Programme, which is an entirely new initiative running for the first time from QtelQtelLoading..., combines classroom teaching and work experience, is designed to offer an insight into the world of work for high school students, and help them to start thinking about the kinds of career that will best suit them.

As well providing insight into the working world, the Programme significantly enhances the CV and employability of young people, and offers the chance for them to be mentored by experienced professionals.

Students take part in the programme for between 25 hours each, combining time spent in the workplace with time in the classroom. For QtelQtelLoading..., which has placed a premium of recruiting and supporting the crème of young talent in Qatar, the Work Ready Programme offers an important opportunity to meet with talented representatives of the next generation.

Shaikh Saud Bin Naser Al Thani, Executive Director, Group Human Resources, QtelQtelLoading..., said: "It is very important for QtelQtelLoading... that we reach out to young people and fuel a sense of interest and excitement about the working world. We were very pleased with the enthusiasm and engagement of the students who took part this year, and we wish them the very best with their future career plans."

At the Closing Ceremony, students took part in a special career coaching workshop, that helped students to consider what they had learned from the programme, and how that could apply to their future careers.

There were also a series of competitions and discussions for the students, designed to further illustrate the challenges and rewards of different career paths.

Two schools participated at 1st week: students from Nasser Bin Abdullah Al Attaya who joined the Networks department at QtelQtelLoading... and students from Al Doha School who joined the International Services. In the 2nd week, QtelQtelLoading... hosted group of girls from different high schools who joined the International Services and had a separate closing ceremony.

After this successful pilot, this programme will be running annually at students' Spring break as this initiative was part of QtelQtelLoading...'s ongoing work to engage and excite young people about potential career opportunities with QtelQtelLoading....

As well as the Work Ready Programme, QtelQtelLoading... is also set to participate in the upcoming Qatar Career Fair to be held 14-18 of March, 2010 in Doha.
