Top officials of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and the visiting US Chamber Executives discuss their operational styles and economic cooperation at the roundtable organised by Dubai Chamber

Dubai, UAE: Organised on the sidelines of the ongoing US-Dubai 2010: Executive Business Leaders Mission to Dubai, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & IndustryDubai Chamber of Commerce & IndustryLoading... hosted a roundtable discussion which was attended by delegates from the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and the 45 visiting American chamber chairmen, presidents and CEOs at its premises on Wednesday.

The roundtable, presided over by HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai ChamberDubai ChamberLoading..., and Dave Adkisson, 2010 Chairman of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) and President and CEO of Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, was attended by Abdullah Sultan Abdullah, Secretary General, the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli, Director General, Rashed Tarish Al Qubaisi, Executive Director, Trade and Business Development, Mohammed Ahmed Al Neaimi, Executive Director, Basic Members Services, Abdulla Al Marzoqi, Director General Office Manager, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Hussain Mohamed Al Mahmoudi, Director General, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqpi, Director General, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Khalid Mohammed Al Jassim, Director General, Fujairah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Humaid Mohammed Bin Salem, Director General, Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, Director, Commercial & Industrial Affairs, Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry as well as the 45 visiting delegates and top officials of Dubai ChamberDubai ChamberLoading....

The US-Dubai 2010: Executive Business Leaders Mission to Dubai is an initiative organized by Dubai Chamber of Commerce & IndustryDubai Chamber of Commerce & IndustryLoading... with the objective of boosting trade ties between Dubai and the US and to reaffirm Dubai's position as a popular investment destination for American businesses and a gateway to the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The Mission comprises 45 top officials of major American chambers from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) and representing thousands of American companies.

Buamim maintained that the idea behind this roundtable discussion is to introduce the heads of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce to their American counterparts and to discuss housekeeping issues including the operational differences and exchange of thoughts and ideas on core chamber related issues, challenges and steps ahead, stressing that this open forum will help the UAE Chambers to learn the American model and its way of handling membership and financial issues, policy advocacy and communication as well as elections and appointment of board members.

He informed that the UAE Chambers follow the federation system while their American counterparts follow a private one and this roundtable provides both the sides a fitting platform to discuss the unique features and challenges these different models face and to continue to do so through active interaction at such forums in the future.

The visiting delegation expressed their gratitude for this open forum where they could discuss the organisational differences between the two sides which will be helpful in conveying the same to the investors in the US who are already dealing with Dubai or want to do the same in the future.
