Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre Opens to the Public

Under the auspices of H.E. Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Minister of Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Health Council, the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre was today opened to the public by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Thani, Chairman of QtelQtelLoading....

Work has already begun to transfer patients from the old dialysis unit at Hamad General Hospital into the new centre.

The new facility has been named the "Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre" to honour the memory of Sheikh Fahad Bin Jassim Al-Thani, who made a major contribution to the development of Qatar and of QtelQtelLoading....

His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Thani, Chairman of the QtelQtelLoading... said: "As QtelQtelLoading... continues to grow and develop, we look to share the benefits of our development with the people of Qatar, to provide them with the facilities and services they need to live happy and fulfilled lives. The Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre will make a distinct contribution by helping to alleviate the suffering that people with kidney disease undergo every day."

The opening of the centre, which will provide dialysis facilities for people suffering acute and chronic kidney disease, is in line with QtelQtelLoading...'s promise to "Fuel The Senses" of the Qatari community.

"The Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre opening falls within our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, 'For Qatar, Hand in Hand', which is a vision to enable CSR-related activities in a number of fields, alongside healthcare," added Sheikh Abdullah.

Donated by QtelQtelLoading... and managed by Hamad Medical CorporationHamad Medical CorporationLoading..., the new Kidney Centre offers a modern and spacious area for patients, with 80 stations and 20 private rooms. It has been designed to offer some of the most advanced treatment standards in the region, to provide comfort for those in need.

The new facility is conveniently located across from the Hamad Medical CorporationHamad Medical CorporationLoading... (HMCHMCLoading...) complex in Bin Omran, to ensure that integrated care is provided for patients and supported by ongoing cooperation between the medical hubs.

Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari, Managing Director of HMCHMCLoading... said: "At HMCHMCLoading... we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality healthcare for all our patients, and this commitment is demonstrated at this new kidney dialysis centre. The first floor of the new Kidney Centre will be made available for male patients, while the second will be dedicated for the treatment of females. The Fahad Bin Jassim Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art dialysis stations, a number of educational and training facilities to instruct and prepare patients and their families before the dialysis phase, an outpatient service with huge capacity, and a specialized pharmacy.

The centre will provide dialysis facilities for people suffering acute and chronic kidney disease who have to undergo the procedure up to three times a week. A great deal of care has gone into the layout of the different treatment areas, so patients feel as comfortable as possible during the process.

In memory of Sheikh Fahad, and to symbolize the protective circle of physical and emotional support, the centre's new logo is called "The Circle of Life."
