CEO's Big Idea is weak without a MIG Idea
- Text size
GMA announced its new MIG Model to CEO's across the UAE on 1st March 2010 in an effort to heighten the focus on business improvement across the UAE.
Most CEO's have a vision of what they want their organisation to become and to achieve at some point in the future. It's the image that a business must have of its goals before it sets out to reach them.
Now, a fresh and dynamic management consultancy is asking CEO's across the Gulf a question which has never been asked here before: "What's your MIG Idea?"
The MIG Idea is a play on words using the catchphrase "what's your big idea?" It's fresh and catchy but there's a very serious side to the MIG Idea as GMA's Managing Director Rob Llewellyn explained.
"As organisations throughout the Gulf strive to increase profit, improve operational efficiency and generate growth, many lack an objective view (detached from ego, internal politics, harsh realities and emotions) to establish a strategy which helps achieve the CEO's vision.
GMA uses its MIG Model to help companies focus on the critical areas of business improvement that matter to the Executive Board. Our teams help establish a strategy to achieve each of those business improvements, then they move onto implementation, and ultimately transform the strategy into reality."
The word MIG was derived from the fact that most organisations aspire to 1) Maximise profit, 2) Improve operational efficiency, and 3) Generate growth. Taking the M, I and G from the first letters of each of these goals gave GMA the MIG word.
GMA took the MIG word and built a model around it which is used in workshop environments to establish a company's own unique MIG Model which can develop into a strategy for business improvement. It gives for a fresh approach to business improvement with a model that can apply to almost any business whether it's a small to medium size enterprise, GCC leader or Government department.
The senior partners at GMA have been helping private and public sector organisations across the Gulf to perform successful implementations for years. Llewellyn added; "we use UK Government best practices in project and programme management, but in a pragmatic manner which is best suited to Middle East business". Throwing academic complexity and inexperienced consultants at Middle East business has been the downfall of too many approaches to doing business in the Gulf".
Whether a business needs to improve the way it operates, perhaps for IPO readiness, cut costs to increase net profits or grow its market share, GMA's MIG Model seems to have it covered.
