Jeddah area planned districts owner held

RIYADH - The Administrative Investigations Department has taken into custody the owner of planned districts in southern and eastern Jeddah in line with the order of the fact finding committee on the flood disaster in the city.
Informed sources told Okaz that the authorities were scrutinizing the planned districts' title deeds, transfer of ownership and approval by the mayoralty.
The sources said that some of the planned districts that were sold to the citizens earlier are located in the valley.
Meanwhile, compensation checks will soon be handed over to 4,500 citizens who were affected by the floods which hit Jeddah on Nov. 25.
The source confirmed that affected citizens have been divided into groups in order to facilitate payment procedures, which will be carried out by Civil Defense authorities. Fifteen committees tasked with estimating compensation are in the final stage of assessing the damage. Brigadier Muhammad Abdullah Al-Qerni, Director of the Media Center for Dealing with Emergencies, said that assessment committees have finished evaluating the damage of 10,751 out of a total of 11,700 buildings.
