President: Iran, Brazil can cooperate on nuclear power plants |

Brasilia - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran's nuclear technology is indigenous, adding that Iran and Brazil can cooperate in the field of nuclear power plant construction. In an interview with Brazil National TV network on Tuesday, Ahmadinejad, responding to a question whether Iran wants to import nuclear technology from Brazil, said that Iran's nuclear technology is for producing nuclear energy, but nuclear power plants technology is an issue on which the two countries can have a good cooperation.
He added that Iran and Brazil have the right to use enrichment technology and underlined that both countries need to use nuclear energy in their power plants.
Referring to inconveniences created for Brazil in the field of nuclear issue, which comes from capitalist thought, Ahmadinejad said that a number of countries want to control all nuclear technology and do not let independent states gain access to such advanced technology.
He said that Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear activities under the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adding that Iran is self-sufficient in nuclear technology, 'so we do not need to import it from Brazil'.
Ahmadinejad stressed that the problem that a number of countries created on Iran's nuclear activities was a political issue adding that, 'in our view it has been finished'.
"Brazil has always supported Iran's nuclear right and we continue our cooperation and consultations with our Brazilian friends," President Ahmadinejad said.
He underlined that Iranians have learned how to look after themselves, so the stances of certain countries are not important for us and those countries are collapsing.
Responding to a question whether Iran counts on Brazil's support, Ahmadinejad answered that Brazil has always supported Iran on nuclear issue and we appreciate that, but the problem is now solved, because our enemies used all instruments they had like issuing resolutions, military threats and political propaganda.
Ahmadinejad described Brazilian nation as a big, sincere, civilized and justice-seeking people and said that during the last 100 years, this nation had been under pressure from hegemonic powers and they plundered this nation's wealth and assets and now they want to create obstacles in the way of Brazil's progress.
