Rashad Janahi speaks at MEDays2009, Tangier - Morocco

Tangier, Morocco - Rashad Janahi, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Investment House was a notable speaker at the MEDays 2009 Conference - Tangier, Morocco, a 3-day annual international summit to discuss geopolitical, economical, social, environmental and cultural topics of the region. The conference took place in Tangier on 19th - 21st November. The conference was attended by leaders, government officials, executives and decision makers of various global entities and organizations.
Janahi addressed the main topic 'Promotion of Human Development', during the 1st MEDay's session, by highlighting threats to human development such as poverty, terrorism, illiteracy and general insecurity. He also recommended to address such issues by recommendations such as: empowerment of the private sector, increase scholarships to the young population, resolve conflicts and increase Research and Development. As a success story in taking initiative to help with human development, he presented Abu Dhabi's initiative for human development through its 2030 Economic Vision where 'social and human development represent the driving force behind policies and initiatives'. He also detailed the action points that the Abu Dhabi government is undertaking to achieve the Vision's objectives such as: concentration on providing premium education, healthcare and infrastructure, encouraging government to work closely with the private sector, increase participation of women and create job opportunities throughout.
Joining Janahi on the panel were notable international official figures such as the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, former Foreign Minister of China, an official from the Palestinian negotiating team and other policy makers.
Janahi has spoken previously as at the World Economic Forum that took place in Dalina - China earlier this year, where ADIH is a member of the Global Growth Companies, a community of the World Economic Forum that selects high yielding and high performing young companies, in addition to other international events and affaires.
