President al-Assad, China's Vice Premier of State Council Discuss Prospects of Developing Relations |

President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday expressed appreciation of China's stances toward Arab issues, stressing the importance of coordination between the two countries in regional and international circles.
The remarks came during President al-Assad's meeting with China's Vice Premier of the State Council Hui Liangyu.
Prospects of developing cooperation and friendship relations between Syria and China and appropriate mechanisms for following up what has been agreed upon were reviewed during the meeting.
Liangyu expressed his country's thanks to Syria's positive attitudes towards issues that concern China. He affirmed China's support to Syria's right to restore the entire occupied Golan, hailing its constructive role on regional and international levels.
Liangyu conveyed to President al-Assad greetings of Chinese President Hu Jintao's and his relief over the steady development of the existing relations between the two countries. In turn, President al-Assad extended his own greetings to President Hu Jintao.
In the same context, Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri reviewed with Liangyu relations of cooperation and deep friendship between Syria and china and the joint desire to develop, upgrade and expand their prospects on different fields.
Bilateral cooperation on the economic, commercial and development levels, in addition to means of enhancing mutual cooperation in the fields of electricity power, oil refining, agriculture and irrigation projects, infrastructure and exchanging experts and experiences were also reviewed during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari, the Chinese accompanying delegation and China's Ambassador to Syria.
