5 November 2009
A Syrian Parliamentary delegation participating in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean meetings in Brussels on Thursday demanded Israeli withdrawal from the Occupied Syrian Golan.

The delegation also demanded Israeli withdrawal form the occupied Arab lands to the line of June 4th 1967 and establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital.

"Israel's refusal to implement the resolutions of the United Nations and its continuation of settlement policy hinder achieving just and comprehensive peace", Head of  Arab and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Syrian People's Assembly, head of the delegation, Suleiman Haddad said.

For their part, other delegations condemned the aggressive Israeli practices and the continuation of settlement policy, calling on Israel to implement the international legitimacy resolutions.

The two-day meetings discussed viewpoints on the Union for the Mediterranean and the peace process in the Middle East.
