French companies to showcase their know-how at the BIG 5 SHOW |

World Trade Centre, Dubai - November 200955 French companies, almost half of which are new exhibitors, will be making up the France Pavilion at the Big 5 Show 2009. Encouraged by a booming civil works sector in the Gulf, all those companies will display a wide diversity of products, their one common point being internationally-acknowledged quality.
You can meet them in Halls 3 & 4 (Booths 3 A141 to 4 E156) from next November 23rd to 26th.
A major, world-renowned company, Saint Gobain will be among Pavilion exhibitors, the majority of which are highly responsive SMEs, able to produce bespoke work in response to specific customer requests.
They include Terreal (terra cotta facing plates), Schutt Grande Forge (art wrought iron), Euroslot (stainless steel decorative products), Clipper (from the Saint-Gobain Group: solid partition, window partition, partition with cover strip or hollow joint, etc.), Sénidéco (a mural creator who was just awarded the Export Trophy Award for its decorative paintings) and La Rochère (upscale glass products) to name but a few.
France has always been on the leading edge of the civil works sector thanks to its many research
centres, such as the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (LCPC, Central Laboratory for Roads and Bridges), the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB, Scientific and Technical Centre for Building), the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), etc.
In addition, through the “Grenelle de l’Environnement” roundtable, the country is in the process of adopting one of the world’s most comprehensive legislations aiming at fostering sustainable growth. The fight against global warming, the preservation of biodiversity and the reduction of sources of pollution are all sectors where French standards are being reinforced, encouraging French companies to take the leap towards the techniques of the future.
Also, it is in Paris that the Bâtimat trade show, the world’s leading building sector event, is held every two years.
French companies, fully aware of the importance of Middle East markets, are attending the Big 5 Show for the 10th year running: close to 2,000 projects, for a total worth of $1.5b, are currently underway throughout the area, which continues showing high growth forecasts (+ 5,1% for the United Arab Emirates in particular).
