Gulf, Moroccan businessmen to discuss impact of global financial crisis and lessons for the future at GulfInvest 2009
Rabat- 28 July 2009: GulfInvest 2009, a private initiative launched by businessmen from Morocco and Gulf countries, will be taking place at the Mohamed VI International Conference Palace in Skhirat, Morocco on 19-20 November 2009. This second meeting of Gulf investors in Morocco has been organized by Moroccan communication agency AGA Com.
The major theme of this second edition of GulfInvest, which first took place in 2007, will be 'The impact of the World's Financial Crisis on the Economies of the GCC and Morocco: lessons for the future'.
A decade of economic and structural reforms under the guidance of His Royal Majesty King Mohammed VI has enabled Morocco to attract an ever-increasing number of investors. The high added value these investments provide for the national economy are invaluable; they are permitting re-entry into certain sectors, as well as rendering them competitive on a regional and international scale, creating jobs, and participating in the global effort to make the Moroccan economy competitive.
GulfInvest 2009 aims to attract major players from the private and public sectors of Gulf countries, and offer them an opportunity to network and interact with key decision-makers from Moroccan private and public sector industrial groups, financial institutions, and government entities. This year will, for the first time, feature the joint presence of businessmen from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and Bahrain.
To mark this occasion, speakers and international experts - including Dr Ibrahim Saif, Consultant and Resident Scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Dr Stephen Everhart, Professor at the American University in Cairo; Dr Allal Rachdi, General Director of the Islamic Center for Development; and Dr Mohamed Bin Youssef, General Director of the Arab Organization for the Development of Industry and Mining - will be present to provide an interactive analysis of the latest trends in the global economy.
In addition to the networking opportunities, one of the most important features of GulfInvest 2009 will be the sector-focused workshops for the food industry, new technology, transportation, real estate, services, and energy and mining sectors.
Exhibition booths will be reserved for companies from Morocco and the Arab Gulf, and will fulfill the aim of presenting the projects and inherent business opportunities available to the various economic operators present.
