HSBC,BNP,DB get $500m Sukuk deal

DUBAI - HSBC HoldingHSBC Holding
PLC, BNP ParibasBNP Paribas S.A. and Deutsche Bank AGDeutsche Bank AG were mandated by Saudi-based Islamic Development BankIslamic Development Bank to arrange a $500 million Sukuk, according to a banker familiar with the deal.The banks will start roadshows that will visit Bahrain, Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia by mid July, the banker who asked not to be named told Zawya Dow Jones Thursday.
Islamic Development BankIslamic Development Bank
said last month that it planned to issue Sukuk worth $6 billion over the next five years to boost project financing in Islamic countries in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.
