Production of Fabia increased to 1,200 cars a day
- Text size
Amman: Reacting flexibly to the growing demand for small cars, Škoda Auto has increased the production of the Škoda Fabia from 1,000 to 1,200 vehicles a day.
"This is a step that needs to be made to meet the increased demand. Despite this record-breaking quantity, some delivery times will still be rather long, though. We are also optimizing our logistics to get the popular Fabias to our customers as quickly as possible," said BOD Member responsible for sales and marketing Fred Kappler.
The growing demand for small cars goes hand in hand with car scrap schemes launched in a number of EU countries. The highest increase in Škoda Auto's sales is seen in Germany. Compared to last year with altogether 15,430 cars over the first four months, the Company has sold nearly a double of this figure from January till April of this year. Besides the Škoda Fabia, there is also a great demand for the Octavia Tour in Germany.
The Škoda Fabia enjoys great popularity thanks to its excellent value-for-money proposition and low operating costs, including its environmentally friendly version Škoda Fabia GreenLine that boasts a consumption of 4.1 liters of diesel/ 100 km (combined) and CO2 emissions reduced to 109 g/km.
