More than 5000 Dermatologists gather in Dubai to Attend the Ninth Edition of Dubai Derma 2009

H.E Khalid Al Sheikh, Assistant Director General (Finance and Administration), Dubai Health AuthorityDubai Health AuthorityLoading... inaugurated today the Dubai International Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma 2009), held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid AL Maktoum, Deputy ruler of Dubai, Minister of finance, president of the Dubai Health AuthorityDubai Health AuthorityLoading....

The inauguration took place at the Dubai International Convention and exhibition Centre, and was attended by a number of world's key dermatologists and more than 5000 physicians from the region and the world.

His Excellency praised the continuous development and the prestigious level that Dubai Derma Conference and Exhibition achieved through the years, as it has become the largest and most pioneer conference; focused on skin health and the latest developments and up to date methods of treatment for different skin diseases. H.E was also delighted by the number of participants and specialists coming to Dubai every year to participate in this scientific conference.

H.E had a tour in the exhibition area, and expressed his content on the number of local companies participating in Dubai Derma Exhibition, that reached more than 60 companies, additional to the steady number of international exhibitors achieved every year. He referred this to the confidence that the world have in the UAE market and to the exceptional place Dubai enjoys.

Dubai Derma 2009 is an annual event that discusses Skin tightening, body contouring and the latest in cosmetic dermatology and more, through a scientific conference program and multiple cutting edge workshops. Dubai Derma is devoted to Dermatology, Skin Care, and Skin Lasers & Anti aging under the motto: "Skin Health is our Concern".

And due to the continuous development in the field of dermatology, it is imperative to host events like Dubai Derma so that our clinicians in the United Arab Emirates, Gulf Countries and Arab World in general will have the chance to exchange their experiences with the peers and updated to the latest developments.

H.E also said that the Dubai Derma had cultivated a worldwide reputation due to the excellent scientific programs it provides in addition to the distinguished lectures and workshops that introduce interns and junior doctors to the latest techniques and scientific methods to deal with various skin diseases and have the capability to provide better treatment during the past eight years.

Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Professor of Dermatology at the Emirates University and Chairman of Dubai Derma Conference welcomed all of the speakers and specialists who came form all over the world to participate in the Dubai Derma in its ninth edition, he also said that there are more than 40 prestigious speakers whom are professors and doctors from Europe, Brazil, and the Middle East.

Dr. Galadari mentioned some of the big names participating in Dubai Derma 2009; Dr Alice Gottlieb the chair of Tufts University who will discuss the latest in the world of psoriasis, an affliction that affects millions worldwide. Additional to Dr. Baran from France who will highlight nails disease, classification and treatment, and also Dr. Michael Gold and Bruce Katz, from the US who will let brief us with the updates of the cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Galadari also said that "Since its inception, Dubai derma has boasted to highlight the latest in the dermatologic and the cosmetic field. This year is even more special since we have a outstanding group of speakers from all over the world bringing in their knowledge and expertise to showcase and share."

He also noted that there are 13 workshops within the scientific program of the conference, that comprise several axes, including skin treatments, and knowledge of the various tissues and the latest developments in scientific research on skin, in addition to the main theme the new "knowledge of cosmetic skin" and the promise of new tools and services, all of these topics and more will be discussed during the three days conference. He added that the number of local doctors who are registered at the Canadian and American Board will share their expertise during the conference, and Interns will have the chance to discuss some of the difficult cases they face regularly with the world's key dermatologists.

An innovative workshop will take place on the 27th and 28th of April under the Title "Meet the Experts", where experts in Fillers and Mesotherapy will discuss and share their experiences, while Al Ain and Khalifa Hospitals will review some of the difficult cases and how to be treated.

Abdul Salam AL Madani, President of Index Holding and Executive Chairman of Dubai Derma assured that the Dubai DERMA Conference and Exhibition has marked itself in the region and the Middle East, and is attended by world's Key Dermatologists to benefit from the workshops and the scientific courses held during the conference. He also revealed that the number of exhibitors for this year is 250 from 65 countries compared to 150 exhibitors from 60 countries last year. Al Madani is expecting 5000 participants and trade visitors in Dubai Derma this year compared to 3000 last year.

Al Madani also added that dermatologists, Dermatology resident physicians and medical students will benefit from the workshops; as they will provide an update on the latest advances and practices in Dermatology, Laser treatments, anti - aging, skin and hair care and other dermatological therapies. Moreover, continuing medical educational hours will be also granted as part of attending this enormous event and it is a great venue to share and exchange expertise with Key specialist sectors and Arab Board Members.

He continued; the Dubai Derma conference and exhibition is considered the largest medical and cosmetic gathering in the Middle East, which attracts specialists from all parts of the world to participate and visit Dubai annually. Dubai Derma is organized by Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organization Est. - member of INDEX Holding, while Index had reserved numerous numbers of hotel reservations this year for the participants who are visiting Dubai on an annual basis to participate in the medical events held by the company since several years back.

Dubai Derma Conference and Exhibition will continue until the 28th of April, including Lectures and scientific workshops by a prestigious group of well known professionals. Dubai Derma scientific program is held in cooperation with the International Academy of Medication Specialization (IAMS).
