Celebrations cancelled, exams on as planned

Umm Al Quwain: A number of activities including celebrations scheduled to mark the third anniversary of the accession of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, have been cancelled following the death of His Highness Shaikh Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain.
In the same context, the wedding celebration of Shaikh Saeed Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum and the daughter of Shaikh Mohammad, scheduled next Sunday, has also been postponed in observance of the state of mourning for the death of Shaikh Rashid.

also announced its closure on Sunday, due to the mourning period.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has declared that the schools and colleges would reopen ton Sunday as scheduled. Consequently, exams for the first semester of the current academic year in the UAE will resume on Sunday as planned.
No classes cancelled
The Ministry of Education also declared that the resumption of exams applies to both public and private schools.
An official in the ministry also explained that examinations scheduled today will be held according to the schedule.
UAE universities will also remain open. An announcement to this effect was made by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The official added that previously scheduled classes will not be cancelled.
