The 14th round of Dubai International Pharmaceutical and Technologies Conference and Exhibition "DUPHAT" will be staged under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Minister of Finance, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of Dubai Health Authority. This medical, scientific, and educational event scheduled from 29 to 31 March 2009 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organization Establishment member of INDEX Holding in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority and in association with Ministry of Health of the UAE organizes DUPHAT. Industry exhibitors and related services providers at DUPHAT target the GCC and MENA region lucrative Pharmaceutical market, which exceeds $4 billion and grows at an average rate of 10 percent annually. The Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition have evolved to be one of the most important annual pharmaceutical events since its inception in 1995.
The pharmaceutical market in the Gulf is growing rapidly as the volume of the pharmaceutical market exceeded $4 billion in 2007and is growing at 10% annually , which is almost twice higher than the growth rate of the global pharmaceutical market. The UAE is almost a net importer of Pharmaceutical products. Imports account for more than 90% of the pharmaceutical market.
