KPMG Fakhro is celebrating its 40th year of success, serving its clients, its people, the accounting profession and the Bahrain business community.

Press Release

03 December 2008
Founded by its late senior partner Mr Jassim Fakhro and Mr Hussain Kassim, in November 1968 as the first national accounting and auditing firm in Bahrain, known as "Fakhro Establishment for Accounting and Auditing"; this fast growing firm became the Bahraini member firm of the KPMG International network in 1987.

A four decades anniversary is noteworthy in itself, but as people grow old, flourishing businesses take a different toll with time; they prosper and mature, as wisdom comes with age.

KPMG FakhroKPMG FakhroLoading...'s unique accomplishments take on two perspectives: one corporate, where the firm has engaged with hundreds of companies and institutions in Bahrain, providing the most valuable advice and guidance throughout the years; the other academic, through the efforts of the late Mr.Jassim Fakhro and the Partners, to enhance the profession, establishing it as a key sector of the economy, as well as educating, training and developing people skills, by offering sponsorship and financial support towards professional qualifications courses and exams, awards & rewards programs, international secondments & internship placements.

Aiming to nurture the best in the industry, KPMG FakhroKPMG FakhroLoading... has played a significant role in attracting some of the most talented professionals from all over the world to the region, cementing its position as the "Employer Of Choice".

KPMG FakhroKPMG FakhroLoading... has gained prominence in Financial Services and as a Center of Excellence for Islamic Finance. With Bahrain's growing reputation as a leader in the financial sector, it seemed a natural environment in which to develop professionally.

The growing market of the GCC offered opportunities, which kept the management team engaged and motivated, while building large Advisory practices specializing in Real Estate, Telecommunications, Private Equity, Government and Infrastructure sectors, in addition to the Bedrock Audit practice.

The practice has been growing at 35% year on year and has embarked on a more sector-focused, markets-based organization structure as it expects to continue this trend.

Speaking on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary, Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner Bahrain & Qatar said: "Since our establishment in 1968, our journey has been nothing short of exciting. Starting out with a small team and core guiding principles, our modest beginnings have given way to significant growth- both in terms of size and industry prominence. This anniversary is a significant milestone for us, as it comes at a time where boosting the confidence of the markets, and taking initiatives is vital.

Today, more than ever, our clients operate in a demanding and constantly-changing environment with rapid globalization, strong competitors, evolving regulations and an unprecedented focus on our profession.

As Bahrain becomes an important player in the global economy, our role also becomes more important on a regional and International level, and we are here to strive for excellence, for the future of our communities, helping employees, clients and the business community reach beyond their potential, armed with our 40 years of experience, industry knowledge and know-how, which will help us overcome the current economic turmoil, and emerge on top, once again."
