Bank Sohar launches 'Al Mumayaz' Corporate Internet Banking

MUSCAT -- Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... launched its Al Mumayaz Corporate Internet Banking Service, as part of their efforts to stay in tune with the needs of their corporate customers, at a specially held function, at the InterContinental Hotel, Muscat, yesterday. Nani Javeri, Chief Executive Officer, Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... and senior managers of the bank were present to welcome and meet guests that included some of the country's top captains of industry, decision makers, senior executives from the public and private sectors, members of the press and other specially invited guests.

Addressing the audience, R Narasimhan, Deputy General Manager and Head of Wholesale Banking, noted, Bank SoharBank SoharLoading...'s philosophy, with regard to corporate banking, is to work in tandem with customers proactively and allow access to various products seamlessly. "We have an exceptionally experienced group managing the corporate business. They in turn are supported by world class banking technology, which complements our resources and supports your business with both speed and surety," he said.

He announced that Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... is offering corporate customers a new amenity that has been specifically designed to make banking business swift and secure. In addition to this, he added, it would also change the way companies did their banking through the Al Mumayaz Corporate Internet Banking Services. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Manager -- Electronic Banking -- Bank SoharBank SoharLoading..., detailed the features and conveniences of the Al Mumayaz Corporate Internet Banking Services and gave an overview of the facilities that would now be available to users.

He mentioned that the launch of this facility for corporates was made after a thorough understanding of their requirements and focused on corporate concerns about data security. He added, soon after the launch of the retail Internet product a few months ago, the bank became the first in the Sultanate to achieve ISO 27001:2005 Certification for the Bank's complete IT Service.

"ISO 27001:2005 is the formal standard of certification that provides the assurance that the certified organisation fulfills the highest levels of security and compliance and has implemented an Information Security Management System (ISMS) which is on par with global standards. This is one of the most important things that we have done to provide confidence to our customers and affiliates in terms of the importance and care given to matters of information security," said Kumar.

The Corporate Internet Banking Services may be used by corporate, SME and government clients. The service bridges distances and customers anywhere in Oman so that they can access the facility at any time and on all days. The services are particularly useful for the bank's corporate clientele who are located some distance away from the bank's branch network. Shantanu Ghosh, DGM Operations Bank SoharBank SoharLoading..., explained, the Information Technology strategy of the bank, from its inception, was to align with the best international banking technology benchmarks. He added, this approach has ensured that all of the bank's customers obtain access to the best of banking technology available anywhere in the world.
