ViewSonic introduces its brightest projector

Press Release

Full-Featured PJ1173 Brings High Performance and 1080p Support to Large Venues

Dubai, UAE, November 4, 2008 - ViewSonic® Middle East has launched its brightest projector; the PJ1173 delivers maximum impact filling large venues with dynamic, eye-catching presentations and providing smooth video entertainment. The powerhouse PJ1173 projector delivers true high-definition picture quality and 5,000 lumens ensuring clear, crisp visuals in auditoriums, boardrooms, lecture halls and conference sites.

The PJ1173's extreme brightness, combined with a 1024x768 native resolution and 1000:1 contrast ratio, guarantees razor sharp images and natural colour, even in well-lit rooms. Four-watt, built-in speakers and multiple input capabilities, including HDMI 1.3 to support up to a 1080p signal, brings presentations to life with video sound, optimum connectivity and versatility.  The projector also includes advanced features such as progressive scan and video noise reduction for smooth motion performance when viewing video, animation or interactive Web pages.

"With its picture quality and added features, the PJ1173 was developed to create an 'experience' for the Middle East user and audience at a competitive price," said Aaron Fright, Regional Director, ViewSonic Middle East & Africa. "ViewSonic is committed to satisfying a diverse range of presentation demands through our industry-leading product line for any application - from ultra-portable and entertainment to workhorse projectors."

Optimal for installation or AV cart use, the 15.8-pound PJ1173 features manual zoom, horizontal and vertical keystone correction, and a full-function remote with mouse control and laser pointer that allows presenters to highlight key points without interruption. Seven screen modes such as Blackboard, Whiteboard and Greenboard reduce surface glare and give presenters added flexibility depending on their environment. ViewSonic has also included enhanced security features - PIN lock protection and transition detector - to prevent unauthorized usage, theft and repositioning. Easy to install lens options allow users to adapt the PJ1173 to project in rooms of virtually any size.

The PJ1173 is a low-maintenance choice for any environment, saving time and money with the inclusion of a built-in RJ-45 jack that provides network connectivity. Technical support can manage controls and monitor diagnostics remotely, which is ideal for businesses or school districts with multiple locations. This capability lets presenters focus on delivering their content, not managing the projector. The Whisper Mode function provides additional efficiency by reducing fan noise output, which in-turn extends lamp life up to 3,000 hours.

The PJ1173 is available now through authorised ViewSonic professional audio-visual resellers, distributors and solution providers for an estimated street price of AEDXXXX. It is backed by ViewSonic's superior customer support programme that includes a three-year limited product warranty and one-year warranty on the lamp.
