Iran-China trade predicted to touch $200b: Minister

Iran's Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi said that Iran and China are determined to boost the trade cooperation as it will touch dlrs 200 billion.
Mirkazemi said that Iran-China trade cooperation would be in engineering and technical services, non-oil commodities and energy fields.
Mirkazemi told reporters in Beijing that Iran and China have considerable potentials, economic potentials in particular, so they have to make efforts to boost their cooperation.
Visiting China to attend the first commerce ministers meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Mirkazemi said that developing economic and trade relations between the SCO permanent members is one of the main objectives.
He reiterated that Iran should shortly join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
He hoped that the SCO meeting will focus on non economic cooperation too in addition to the trade and commercial ties.
During his two-day visit to China, the Iranian commerce minister is due to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Chen Deming on expansion of commercial cooperation.
He is also scheduled to meet with a number of Iranian businessmen in China.
The first commerce ministers meeting of SCO will start on Wednesday in Beijing.
Iran currently has observer status in the organization, as do India, Mongolia and Pakistan.
SCO is an intergovernmental economic organization which was founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
