Palestinian President receives UAE delegation after Palestine Investment Conference

Palestinian President Mr. Mahmoud Abbas has recently received a UAE delegation, headed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, following the conclusion of the Palestine Investment Conference held from May 21 - 24, 2008 in Bethlehem.

A joint meeting was attended by the members of the UAE delegation including H.E. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy; H.E. Sanaa Darwish Al Kutbi, Adviser of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for humanitarian affairs; H.E. Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Board Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority; H.E. Dr. Saleh Al Taee, Secretary-General of the UAE Red Crescent Authority; and H.E. Rahma Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Jordan.

During the meeting, the Palestinian President welcomed the Emirati delegation and noted that its participation in the four-day conference underscored the commitment of the UAE towards the Palestinian people.

Mr. Abbas also lauded the continuous support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to the Palestinian people, and thanked him for his unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause at all Arab and international forums.

He also asked H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to convey his greetings to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.  Mr. Abbas noted that he respects and appreciates H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's role in the humanitarian assistance granted by the UAE Red Crescent Authority to the Palestinian people and its numerous construction projects set up in the Palestinian territories.
