Critical National Infrastructure Authority to Sign 3 billion Dirham DERA Project Agreement with AGT/AIS

Critical National Infrastructure Authority Marks First Time Participation as Headline Sponsor for "International Security National Resilience Exhibition 2008"

Abu Dhabi - UAE 04 March, 2008 - Critical National Infrastructural Authority (CNIA) announced today that it signed an 3 billion Dirham "DERA project" agreement with AGT/AIS, to offer a fully integrated security solution for all utilities and vital assets of Abu Dhabi. The announcement took place at the International Security National Resilience exhibition from 2nd- 5th of March.

The agreement will enable cooperation between the two organizations to develop a long term strategic objectives of developing new techniques, programmes and specialized devices to support the security and offer economic stability of assets and the emirate.

The CNIA in partnership with AGT/AIS conducted a professional security solution analysis on the specializations and domains of the vital assets, underlining the vulnerability of these critical assets and the need for establishing a comprehensive technology that will assure their safety.

His Excellency Staff Colonel Engineer Muhair Ali, General Manager of Critical National Infrastructure Authority, said:" The agreement with AGT/AIS moves us closer to our goal and to H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan vision of establishing a high security level of the critical assets in the emirate. CNIA is proud of being one of the important authorities in Abu Dhabi that looks after the security of vital facilities and utilities of Abu Dhabi".

AGT/AIS system is based on a unique system called DERA security solution which will be implemented through three stages under the supervision of CNIA. The solution will be based on the priorities and the criticality of the sites. In addition of providing an immediate reduction of any emergencies plus increasing the security of the assets.

About Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA):
CNIA is an independent established authority based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for protecting all vital facilities and achieves the economic stability in the emirate. It is affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Its objective is to following up, assessing and updating all procedures relating to insuring and protecting vital facilities such as onshore offshore ptro-leum facilities, power generation stations, water desalination plants, natural gas transport gas transport network, airports, seaports cables, aerials and all service networks owned by the emirate, from acts of sabotage to boost security and stability.

In coordination with concerned authorities CNIA implements policies and strategies necessary to insure protection for all vital sites and facilities.
