DUBAI -- Burooj PropertiesBurooj PropertiesLoading... has launched Sharjah Marina with an investment of Dh15 billion, under the patronage of Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The multi-billion dirham project announced at the "Sharjah International Investment and Real Estate Exhibition: Acres Middle East 2007" being held from 25-27th December at Sharjah Expo Centre.

Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi emphasised the significance of the project at its inauguration.

Located at Al Khan Peninsula with spectacular views of Palm Deira and Memzar Park, the 10 million square feet Marina with panoramic marine views will stand out as one of the most iconic real estate undertakings featured in the UAE skyline.

Sharjah Marina will be one of the UAE's most significant developments. The project will incorporate a water-front amphitheatre, showcasing all sorts of cultural events. The Marina development will also have a marina beach club, serene and majestic spas, fitness and tourist centre.

"Sharjah is witnessing a remarkable construction boom attracting huge investments to the Emirate on individual and corporate levels. Sharjah Marina is the finest example of the enlightened philosophy of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on promoting the Arab art and culture. This philosophy has positioned the Emirate as the cultural capital of the Arab world," said Engineer Salah bin Butty, General Manager, Planning and Survey.

Adel Al Zarouni, Managing Director, Burooj PropertiesBurooj PropertiesLoading..., said: "This huge project will confirm Sharjah's standing as a residential, leisure and business hub, with special emphasis on Islamic values and Arab heritage."

Sharjah Marina combines shopping, entertainment, residential, business and cultural activities within a genuinely styled Arab city environment, all connected with a magnificent water canal.

Easa Altenaijy, CEO, Sharjah Marina Project, said: "The contemporary lifestyle development with a 2,000m x 60m water canal, is surrounded by low-rise buildings specifically modelled in Arab design."

Sharjah Marina combines commercial, residential, retail and tourism interests. The project comprises a residential, commercial and entertainment cluster with four hotels based on Arab style. The project will also feature one of the largest malls in the Emirate.

Altenaijy added: "The project adopts four prime Islamic architectural themes including Damascus, Turkish, Andalusia and the Gulf. It has been designed on the Al Khan peninsula to further promote family-tourism in Sharjah."
