Dubai, UAE, 9th September 2007- As part of Jordan's delegation participating at Gitex, the largest ICT trade show in the Middle East, a press conference was held at DICEC yesterday September 9th. The conference was attended, on behalf of His Excellency Basim Al Roussan, the Jordanian Minister of Information and Communications Technology, by Nidal Qanadilo, Director of ICT Investment and Promotion. Qanadilo reiterated that the Ministry of Information and Communications TechnologyMinistry of Information and Communications TechnologyLoading... will continue to help Jordan to emerge as a preferred outsourcing destination across the region. In 2005 and in line with His Majesty's directives, Jordan established a dedicated call center initiative to facilitate the development of this industry and align the investment environment with competitors.

He added, "Jordan offers all the right ingredients for a successful and vibrant outsourcing industry, such as our capable workforce at competitive cost as well as the country's robust technology infrastructure". He also added that "this can only be achieved through an effective public-private partnership that leverages each sector's strengths and areas of influence to ensure economic sustainability."

Sabri Tabbaa, int@j's CEO commented, "int@j works closely with the MOICT to achieve the objectives of the ICT National strategy 2007-2011. We are working diligently on implementing a Research and Development (R&D) fund that will be supported by deducting a tax from telecommunication companies to support startups and incubated projects."

The Information Technology Association of JordanInformation Technology Association of JordanLoading... is an ICT industry-support association that embraces Jordan's ICT businesses, with a mission to promote their advancement on a local and international level, and enhance their capacity and performance; it has supported 10 Jordanian companies' participation at Gitex this year.

KETAB Technologies, which is fully supported by int@j at Gitex, is a Jordanian startup company named one of the five most promising high technology startup companies according to the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF), the Arab Business Challenge and the MIT business plan competition. int@j's particular interest in Ketab stems in its achieving the 1st place in the contest held by iPark, Jordan's technology incubator.

int@j was host for its first Business-to-Business match-making Cocktail Reception that took place yesterday at Madinat Jumeira, Mina Al-Salam Ballroom. The reception was attended by a number of prominent dignitaries and high-level businessmen from the private and public sectors who engaged in one-on-one business introductions and future cooperation exchange.
