Ten public parks are to be created in Sharjah and the existing 35 upgraded in a Dh15 million project.
Facilities and services will be developed, some parks will be extended and landscaping will be carried out as part of the municipality initiative.
And lighting will be improved and toilets and prayer rooms for men and women built.
"We consider public parks an important aspect of family entertainment," said municipality General Manager Dr Salah Al Hajj. "With our newly improved and more convenient facilities, we want to transform our parks.
"Sharjah MunicipalitySharjah Municipality

The revamp was organised following an instruction, from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to transform parks into venues for social gatherings and entertainment.
